Could you be the next member of the QVH Council of Governors?

The Queen Victoria Hospital is looking for local people interested in understanding and knowing more about the local NHS to consider volunteering to become a member of its Council of Governors.

As an NHS foundation trust, the Queen Victoria Hospital has a Board of Directors and a Council of Governors. The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategy and performance of the trust and the Council of Governors holds the Board of Directors to account for the trust’s performance. The chair of the foundation trust leads both the board of directors and the council of governors.

Becoming a member of the Council of Governors is an opportunity to represent the local community and be involved in scrutinising decisions. The hospital is proud of its heritage and community spirit and has 20 members of the public sitting on its Council of Governors. Each term of office lasts for three years.
