I will #HelpMyNHS

We’re asking everyone in our 5 Communities - across Burgess Hill, Crawley, East Grinstead, Haywards Heath and Horsham and the surrounding villages - to do something small to #HelpMyNHS. By adding your name to our pledge wall, you'll be demonstrating your commitment and support for our local NHS. 


Public pledges
  • Morwen Millson I will #HelpMyNhs by staying fit and active and seek help for non-urgent health problems from my pharmacist first. I will avoid using A & E if at all possible.
  • Lordson Simpson I will #HelpMyNHS as Occupational Therapist working in Haywards Heath, I will continue to provide compassionate care and put care at the heart of the community. As a parent and citizen , I will do my best to promote wellbeing to the people around my. Eat well, exercise and live well!!  
  • Stephen Gray I will #HelpMyNHS by listening to instructions by my GP, follow all information given to me, always take my medication. Burgess Hill
  • Krystyna Bullivant I will #HelpMyNHS by accepting that I am responsible for my own health and wellbeing so will (ask) seek advice about my lifestyle from my GP and act on their suggestion.  Hassocks

  • Rebecca Slattery-Kavanagh  I will #HelpMyNHS by improving my own health and wellbeing via diet and exercise. I will join my GP Practice Participation Group (PPG) to get more involved in helping to drive improvements and learning in the local area. I won’t ask for medications I know I can buy over the counter, I understand that medicines are four times more expensive when prescribed Newick

  • Geraldine Hoban  I will #HelpMyNHS by ensuring my son has his regular asthma review with the asthma nurse to avoid usual exacerbation over the summer period Mid Sussex 
  • Lynne McDonald  I will #HelpMyNHS by saving A&E for saving lives so I'll only go there in an emergency. In future I'll seek advice from NHS111 to access appropriate services. I will use my local pharmacy more for advice about minor ailments, medicines and prescription reviews, healthy lifestyle and wellbeing advice. I won't ask for a prescription for medications I know I can buy over the counter. I will order and collect my repeat prescriptions on time (and my family's if they need help), particularly before a holiday period Crawley
  • Norman Webster  I will #HelpMyNHS by performing my role as Community Cabinet Member at MSDC, working as I do with the MSK Partnership, Horsham and Mid Sussex CCG, Queen Victoria Hospital Governor, Public and Patient Design Panel for the new Brighton Hospital and work nationally to build the patient partnership programme into NHS processes. I will also manage my own health more proactively. East Grinstead (and Mid Sussex)
  • David Phillips MBE  I will #HelpMyNHS by representing the public/patient interest as far as I am able in my role as lay representative for Horsham at Horsham and Mid Sussex CCG. In practice this means attending the CCG's Locality Group meetings and Patient Reference Group meetings and endeavouring to ensure that patients' best interests are considered and acted upon in the commissioning and development of services Horsham
  • Peter Langley  I will #HelpMyNHS by accepting that I am responsible for my own health and wellbeing so will seek advice about my lifestyle from my GP or pharmacy and act on their suggestions Cooksbridge

  • Don and Hilary Fritche  I will #HelpMyNHS by maintaing a good exercise, diet, and supporting elderly friends, but the NHS is underfunded we try not to need the NHS. Storrington

  • Theodora Verner RN JP I will #HelpMyNHS by buying my own Paracetamol tablets. At my local chemist they cost less than £1 but same amount when bought by NHS over £3 for any prescription! Henfield

I will keep a well-stocked first aid kit at home so I can deal with my family’s minor injuries and ailments. I understand that if I make an appointment at my GP I should either keep it or cancel it.
